Friday!!!!!

Oh, how I have longed for Friday to get here! Its such a gloomy, windy, cold day but I'm thankful for Friday. I have had a stressful week at work, getting Christmas (yes you read that right) ready, working at another store plus mine and then my wifely (or something like that) duties. This week has been long..UGH.

This weekend we are going to Oktoberfest in Ohio. Its going to be cold but I love going there! Kelsie gets to go with us and I'm super excited about that! In the past it has been too cold for her so we had to leave her at home but not this year!!! I can't wait to walk through the tents with her, drink hot chocolate with her, do the chicken dance with her! I just love her being in my presence and anymore we don't do anything without her. I love it.

But for today, its staying inside in my pajamas all day and cleaning this house! I mean deep cleaning this house. I have checked off more of my to do list since I've been on here last and I feel so good about that! Our house is coming along quiet nicely. It feels like home now!

Well, I'm off to drink my hot chocolate and tackle the monsoon pile of laundry that awaits me!
Happy Friday to all!!

so upset

So. I am struggling a little bit with Kelsie and school work. She is a very smart little girl who loves school. Like seriously, lives school. She goes to school 5 days a week all day long and would go 7 days a week with no problem if she had to. The kid LOVES school. She plays school at home right after she gets out of school. Its so cute too because she shuts her door and you can hear her reading to the "class"! I love it. Okay, so that is not my problem. My problem is she is so down on herself when she doesn't get at least an A on her tests and work. I have issues with that. I don't know what to do for her.

She got in the car the other day after school and instantly started bawling. I ask her what is the matter and she shut down on me and plugged her ears. I stopped the car and told her she was not going to plug her ears and that she needed to tell me what was wrong or I couldn't fix whatever problem there was. She then proceeded to tell me that she had a quiz and she got a C on it. I told her that its okay that she got a C. I said sometimes assignments are going to seem a little harder and she may not always know and understand it. I told her that she won't always ( I mean not that I don't want her to) get an A on every assignment but that a D or an F was untolerable. I don't want her to think that she can always get a C but my goodness girl was not taking it very well.

We study and study and study every single night. We go over and over and over her work. We make up our own spelling tests. We read through her story of the week at least 2 times a night and sometimes 3. I don't know what it is at school but she just can't seem to stay focused and on track. This is the only C she has gotten and at least it was just on a quiz..and not her overall grade because let me tell ya...daddy is gonna fly off the broom with this one! Seriously, thought she should've been on the A honor roll in KiNdErGaRtEn! Get real!!!

Well, if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. How do I help her to not be so hard on herself? Every little mistake she makes at school she gets herself so worked up over.

Have a great evening...on to studying for that spelling test tomorrow!
Love to you all!!

update

So. Here's an update on that mile long to do list...

My aunt and cousin came up and spent the entire weekend with me! Yay! We actually got a lot accomplished amongst all the cheer leading running around. You see. Kelsie had to do a dance Friday night at the football game and then on Saturday morning she had to cheer at the flag football game on Saturday. Whew! That was a lot of cheering in two days.

Anyways...back to the list...I/we took everything off of my walls and got rid of stuff, kept some stuff, bought new stuff, and put everything back on my walls!! I love it. It actually looks better. Jeff and I have lived in our house for almost 8 years now..I KNOW. and everything in our house has been in the same spot since we moved in. CRAZY..but true. So my designer team..aka..my aunt and cousin came in to help and we got it done! We rearranged my living room...hung new curtains..(yes, by by ugly plaid curtains). I absolutely love the newly decorated living room and bedroom.

It actually feels homey in here. I love sitting on my couch now and reading my book by the table lamp. I love that it feels cozy now!

Thanks aunt Faye and Pam. You guys are the best! Now, on to more projects..well, that is starting tomorrow because today I have to work. booooo!!
Have a great day!
Love to you all!!!

Finally here!

The weekend that is! So glad it has came upon uss

We have a busy weekend ahead. Kelsie has a dance to perform at the football game tonight at halftime! She is super pumped about this. The little girls have worked hard at making this dance perfect!

She has pictures for cheer leading tomorrow morning, practice after pictures, and a flag football game to cheer at right after practice! The best part about this weekend is that I am off of work and able to spend every minute with her!

Oh, and my awesome aunt (aka "mom") is coming also to stay the entire weekend! I love her company. She is such a strong and beautiful lady! She has made me who I am today.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Rusty Man

Meet Rusty!

He is one of our family pets! We have two German Shepherds who stay outside, two cats who stay outside Rusty man who stays inside!

We inherited Rusty from a family member who couldn't care for him anymore. Let me tell ya~we love this little guy!!

We say he is Kelsies dog but if your around us then you know he follows ME EVERYWHERE! I am talking~turn around and you literally step on him. Poor guy. He has been stepped on lots of times. Jeff says he will learn but I'm beginning to think that he won't.

Anyways, my reasoning for posting about him is because I had to take this little man to the vet the other day because he got in some mouse poison. Did you know that you have to make them vomit right after they eat the poison? Useless info, but you do. I had to spend all night the other night with him trying to make him vomit. Not a pretty thing to do either. I had to give him a teaspoon of salt, wait 15 minutes, give him a tablespoon of peroxide, wait 15 mins...do the salt thing and peroxide thing three times and the fella finally got sick..and then he couldn't stop getting sick. IMAGINE that!

He is doing much better now! He had to have a shot and be put on some pills for a week but he is doing good now. Whew! I couldn't imagine this little guy not being around anymore. I couldn't imagine having to call the family member and telling her that we killed the dog. That could've been bad.

Kelsie loves him and so do I
Just thought I'd share that little bit of info with ya! Ha!
Have a great evening!

Blessed with Friends

I just want to say that I am truly blessed with the best friends in the world. I have gotten really close with these two ladies. The top one is of my dear friend Mandy. She is truly an awesome woman! Beautiful on the inside and out. Our girls have gone to school together since preschool (not that its been forever ago). They are the best of friends. I thank her for everything she has done for me and I know she is thanking me for what I've done for her!! We do a lot of things with the Pucketts! They are a great family!

The bottom picture is of my great friend Jessica! She is the best. We have such a great time when we are together! Our families get along so well and our children just adore each other!(well, most of the time they do)! I just love her. Her and her husband Jeremy are awesome peeps :)

I love my best friend in the world so much~words cannot even explain! She is not pictured because I haven't seen her in a really long time. She is my friend from school. Her name is Michele and I just think about her every day! We don't talk as often as we used to but when we do get the chance to talk it's like we never missed a single day!

I just wanted to share a little bit about my friends. I have other friends, some I would like to see more often, some I am more of just an aquantence with that I'd like to get to know better, some I don't really like their lifestyles so I just don't even try. (I know...thats horrible).

Good friends are hard to come by so cherish each and every moment you have with them!
I truly am blessed!

Have a great day!

Hillbilly Deluxe

I was rummaging through my pictures on my computer and came across these two. These were taken in August on one of our last "nice" days. It is a picture of Kelsie and a friend at Linda and Charlies.

I am not sure why I like these so much but I do. There really isn't any particular reason why I do like them other than the fact the girls look so damn cute.

I mean really! Look at those outfits! Love! Love! Love! These two really do think alike. These outfits were so not planned! Look at that rear on Kelsie. It looks so cute! I am a sucker for the rear end on that kid. Its almost so perfectly imperfect!! Love her. They were feeding Rosco some carrots because he was such a good boy during their ride!

Just wanted to share these photos!

Have a great weekend!

Love to you all.

Mile long to do list.

I have been thinking about redoing my house. I'm talking REDOING my house! I am actually super excited about it that I want to get it all done now. Thats where the impatient me kicks in. When I get my mind wondering I want to get my body working and get it all complete. I have made myself a mile long to do list. Here are a few things I have for ya.
 1. Get the leak fixed. (we have had a major water leak in our living room so we had to rip up the carpet).
 2. repaint the living room
 3. go through stuff (if it hasn't been used in a year~get rid of it)
 4. go through totes of clothes...winter out and put summer in!
 5. go through ALL closets
 6. finish painting my bedroom
 7. organize, organize, and organize

Can you tell I am not an organized person at all? Well, let me tell ya that that is gonna change! SOON! I am in the phase of can't find anything that I need and I'm sick of it. I need to go through Kelsies old school papers and get rid of some of those. I said some, not all. I need to go through my clothes. If they don't fit now they probably wont in a year so why hang on to them. Need any clothes anyone? I am going to have quite a few.
Anyways...my list is lots longer but wanted to spare you the time. I'm off to start chalking off some of my to do list before I have to go to work!  I will keep you posted on some of our projects as we go along.
Have a happy rainy day! Stay warm today. The wind is fierce.
 Love to you all.

Great Times

We had a lot of fun this weekend! We spent the day shopping in Edinburgh on Sunday. Just the three of us! And, Kelsie behaved!! We got some really good buys too.

On Monday we had a cookout with my family. We played lots of outdoor games and had lots of food! I just love cookouts with family. It is absolutely, by far, the best times! We got to see family, hold our precious newbies, and laugh like we never laughed before! I truly enjoy my time spent with my family!

On another note, IS THIS WEATHER NOT TO DIE FOR?!? Oh, how I love fall! (or fall like)! It will probably be back in the near 90s before September is over...ugh.I hope not! I love hanging out in my sweats and going outside in my blue jeans and t-shirts. Oh fall I have longed for you to arrive!
Happy days to you all! Enjoy this beautiful (minus the wind) weather!

Currently...

Currently, Kelsie is in her 2nd week of school. She loves her teacher. She loves her classmates. She has homework every single night and believe it or not~she loves it! Now, I know that will wear off sooner than later but for now I am enjoying the fact that homework is a breeze.

Currently, Kelsie is in gymnastics one night a week and cheerleading 2 times a week. She has a love for cheer leading that I will not ever understand. (I was not a cheer leader in school.) She started gymnastics about 3 1/2 years ago and that is all she does~in the house~in the front and back yards~at gymnastica on Tuesdays~you name the place and I guarantee she has done flips of some sort there! At our house you hear her little feet running down the hall and then THUD. She has flipped.

Currently, Kelsie has this hate towards getting her picture taken. Not so sure why, but I can't seem to get a decent picture of her (and no..its not just the person taking the photo!) She does some cute things and wears some some of the cutest outfits but WILL NOT. and I repeat WILL NOT let me take her picture.
Notice the "mom. put that camera away look" Honestly, I love it!

Currently Kelsie has had this horrible attitude. She is so grouchy when she comes home from school its unbelievable. She has always had a little bit of an attitude towards me but nothing like this. She is so grouchy about asking her about her day at school. She refuses to talk about it. Drives. Me. Nuts. I wanna know every single detail about her day, who she played with at recess, who she sat by at lunch, what did she learn in math, what book they read, and she will not tell me any of it. Why? Will we always have this kind of relationship? Please tell me no. Please tell me it gets better. A part of me knows that the silence will not be broken, but a part of me is pleading for her to just talk to me.

Currently, my love for Kelsie is unreal. I love her to the moon and back. I love her personality. I love that she is grouchy after school (reminds me of myself.. He!He!) I love that she looks just like her daddy. I love that she is six years old. I love that she loves animals and loves to play babies every single night. I just love her and I think the Lord everyday for blessing me with her!
I hope everyone has a blessed day! On to cheer practice we go!
