The good, the bad, and the super adorable

The good. I am on my third day off! Wow. Three days! I have gotten a lot accomplished in the past few days! House is cleaned. Enjoyed my days alone with Jeff and my evenings with Kelsie. I have had lots of me time also. Who doesn't like "me" time?
Last night we went to school for Meet the Teacher night. It was a great meeting. I really like Miss Longnecker and so does Kelsie. She is a great lady.

The bad. I go back to work tomorrow..boo!! I have really enjoyed my days at home. I had all intentions of cleaning the back of the house yesterday and tackling my spare room today but, I started in on Kelsies room and got it all done~I'm talking rearranged~done. She was super excited when she saw it :) The bad part about the house cleaning is I didn't get any of the other rooms done..so now I have to do them today. Oh well!
The super adorable is Kelsie! She has started Cheerleading. They have 2 squads that cheer on Saturdays for the flag football teams. It is so cute. I love to watch her. Her best friend Karly Puckett is on her team also. They have the same teacher this year also! Whew..I am glad for that...(considering that is ALL Kelsie wanted). They even do gymnastics together. Oh. Trouble. Mandy and I are getting ourselves prepared for when they get older. Its going to be fun. Hope they stay the best of friends. I got this picture last Saturday at the game. Not a very good picture but from where I was sitting, it's all I could get.
I love this action shot.
Monroe Centrals future cheerleaders. Love how Kelsies hair is a mess now and Karlys bow looks like its coming out the sides of her head. I love the imperfectness (is that even a word) of this picture. Best friends!

I hope you all have a great day today. Its going to be rainy so a perfect day to spend indoors. I am cleaning this morning and relaxing with a great book and a smoothie this afternoon.

On a side note. Today is the last day of August. Oh. How I loved August and kind of hate to see it go.

Out of sorts and such

Lately I have been out of sorts. Trying to get back into the groove of school life. This summer was so out of routine~letting the house go. We hadn't been home a lot this summer and when we would be home it would be to make a quick mess of things and out the door we would go again! It was fun I tell you but now that we have to get back into it I am looking at this house thinking.. eww gross.
I know...thats bad. Like. Really bad. But, today is a whole new day! Things are gonna change and back to routine we go.
Last week, we started to get back to somewhat normal. Kelsie went to bed fairly early, and got up for school on time :) That was such success!! I have 3 days in a row off from work (yesterday being the first) so cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning...organizing, organizing and more organizing for me! I am actually reallly excited about this.

Yesterday I started the front of the house and got it accomplished.
Today I am tackling the back of the house. They bedrooms, the bathrooms (ugh) and cleaning the carpets. Tomorrow I am starting (and finishing) the spare~collect all~bedroom.
 Excited? Yes.

Have a wonderful day! Off to get Kelsie on the bus and start my duties!

Life and its challenges...

I have faced a few challenges in my life these past few months. I have been trying my hardest to get over these huge humps but to be honest its hard.
My grandmother was diagnosed with alzheimers disease(sp?). It has really gotten bad, like, to the point she doesn't remember many of her grand kids anymore. The only few she can remember is me and my older sister. I am feeling really guilty that she can remember me and not some of the others because I do not go visit her that often. I know...CATHY..that is your grandmother! I feel real horrible but I just don't go. I am not going to try to make excuses~other than its a long drive.
On top of that. my dad left my mother and moved to Florida. What was he thinking? I am so mad and angry and hurt all at the same time. I haven't ever had the daddy's little girl relationship with my dad but it still hurts to know that he's gone. I think what hurts the most is that he hasn't even called me.
On a good note...Kelsie is still loving first grade! Her teacher told her today that she shouldn't get many strikes because she makes good decisions! That was definite good news!!! I love her. She is the best little lady I know...(other than those dramatic tantrums every now and again). She is growing up to be quite the little woman!
I am making a commitment to myself to get through these little challenges that life has thrown my way! I am making a promise to visit family more often. I am making a promise to mend my relationship with my father. I love my family so much and want them to be a part of mine and my little families life!
I hope this wasn't to boring for ya...just had to get it out there!

Have a great night and hope to blog some more tomorrow!

Week one down!

Well, we have survived our first week of school! We have lots planned this weekend so I wanted to get this post in while I could.
Kelsie gets released a little early from school today for the funeral for Jenny Haskell. I pray for the strength for her friends and family to make it through this difficult day.
As I have said before, Kelsie started cheerleading! She cheers at a flag football game on Saturday morning and then on Saturday evening she has a gymnastics performance at Blue Birds Days. I love that she loves gymnastics. She has been doing gymnastics for 3 years now!!
And the good thing about this weekend is that Papa bear is home and we get the whole weekend with him. If you know Jeff, you know he works 3rd shift so we don't get to have family days together very often. But. When we do we make the most out of it!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend. I know we are going to ours!

 Happy Friday!

Just a little follow up!

Kelsie has had a wonderful first 2 days of school! She loves her teacher. Has her best friend in class with her. Has 3 classroom pets! How could you not love first grade. We have been really busy these past few weeks. Kelsie is in cheerleading and in gymnastics so we have done nothing but run ALL over Parker City. Between juggling working full time and being a mommy full time and a house wife(well, not really wife because we are not married) full time I'm pooped. We have gymnastics and cheer practice today so that is all I have for now. Off to watch little miss do her flips! She is getting really good at them too :)

Here is a little photo of her doing one of her back bends! Hope you all enjoy your evening! Ours is going to be great!

What? Really? Already?

First Grade. Are you kidding me?!! I honestly can't believe it is that time already. Summer just flew on by us! We did have a great summer and we were very prepared about first grade, but, didn't really today to be the first day. Ya know what I mean? My little lady did look gorgeous today! I was a little nervous for her this morning. Thinking, will she know where to go when she gets off the bus? Will she be scared? Will she get embarrassed in any way today? You know, the things moms worry about.

Look at the missing tooth! And the one that is just barely hanging there!
I can not wait until she gets off the bus! I am ready to see her and hear all about her lovely first day of first grade.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today! I am going to get started on cleaning this house!

Kelsie Jo

Kelsie Jo! So many ways to describe this lovely lady. Beautiful. Kind hearted. Attitude like you wouldn't believe. (we say she gets that from her dad). Very Dramatic. Girly on some days. Tom boyish on other days. Has a heart of gold when it comes to animals. Growing up wayyyyy to fast. Six years old. Graduated from Kindergarten and is now going into First grade! That is a big deal at our house! It just amazes me how fast children really do grow up. I remember the day I brought her home. I remember her first steps, her first words, her first smile at me! I remember when she cackled that first cackle, the first time she puckered her lips to kiss me back. The first time she said I love you mommy. I remember her first day of preschool. She cried and followed me down the hallway begging me not to leave her. I remember her first day of Kindergarten...we both cried like babies!! I couldn't wait until 2:45 to be able to pick her up.
I love her so much. I love her personaliy now. I love that she is a little woman now. We have so much fun with her! Her and her dad have a weekly tradition...they go to Muncie and eat lunch and then shop all afternoon. Some days she comes back with bags full of stuff and some days she comes back with just a single pack of gum. They have so much fun on those days! I just love that. Her and I have a different bond. We tell secrets. We talk about boys. We play dress up. We dance in the living room while no one is watching. We love to play games. She looks up to me like a daughter should. I love that. I wouldn't trade a single second of my life!
This week is our last week of summer break...boo!! Seriously. Where did the summer go? It has even felt a little like fall out the past few mornings and its getting cooler in the evenings. We have lots in store for us this week. We have school clothes to get out. Letters to practice. Numbers to practice. Words to sound out. A six year old mind to refresh from the stuff she learned last year. "Last year" seems so long ago. We are going to enjoy our last few days together before first grade!

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Indiana State Fair.

My heart goes out to those whose lives were affected by the awful tragedy. It is a nightmare for some.
I am so thankful for the Indiana Hoosiers who ran to that stage to help those who were trapped.

I ask that everyone take a moment a day/night to say a small prayer for those families.
Have a great day!
