Just a little follow up!

Kelsie has had a wonderful first 2 days of school! She loves her teacher. Has her best friend in class with her. Has 3 classroom pets! How could you not love first grade. We have been really busy these past few weeks. Kelsie is in cheerleading and in gymnastics so we have done nothing but run ALL over Parker City. Between juggling working full time and being a mommy full time and a house wife(well, not really wife because we are not married) full time I'm pooped. We have gymnastics and cheer practice today so that is all I have for now. Off to watch little miss do her flips! She is getting really good at them too :)

Here is a little photo of her doing one of her back bends! Hope you all enjoy your evening! Ours is going to be great!

What? Really? Already?

First Grade. Are you kidding me?!! I honestly can't believe it is that time already. Summer just flew on by us! We did have a great summer and we were very prepared about first grade, but, didn't really today to be the first day. Ya know what I mean? My little lady did look gorgeous today! I was a little nervous for her this morning. Thinking, will she know where to go when she gets off the bus? Will she be scared? Will she get embarrassed in any way today? You know, the things moms worry about.

Look at the missing tooth! And the one that is just barely hanging there!
I can not wait until she gets off the bus! I am ready to see her and hear all about her lovely first day of first grade.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today! I am going to get started on cleaning this house!

Kelsie Jo

Kelsie Jo! So many ways to describe this lovely lady. Beautiful. Kind hearted. Attitude like you wouldn't believe. (we say she gets that from her dad). Very Dramatic. Girly on some days. Tom boyish on other days. Has a heart of gold when it comes to animals. Growing up wayyyyy to fast. Six years old. Graduated from Kindergarten and is now going into First grade! That is a big deal at our house! It just amazes me how fast children really do grow up. I remember the day I brought her home. I remember her first steps, her first words, her first smile at me! I remember when she cackled that first cackle, the first time she puckered her lips to kiss me back. The first time she said I love you mommy. I remember her first day of preschool. She cried and followed me down the hallway begging me not to leave her. I remember her first day of Kindergarten...we both cried like babies!! I couldn't wait until 2:45 to be able to pick her up.
I love her so much. I love her personaliy now. I love that she is a little woman now. We have so much fun with her! Her and her dad have a weekly tradition...they go to Muncie and eat lunch and then shop all afternoon. Some days she comes back with bags full of stuff and some days she comes back with just a single pack of gum. They have so much fun on those days! I just love that. Her and I have a different bond. We tell secrets. We talk about boys. We play dress up. We dance in the living room while no one is watching. We love to play games. She looks up to me like a daughter should. I love that. I wouldn't trade a single second of my life!
This week is our last week of summer break...boo!! Seriously. Where did the summer go? It has even felt a little like fall out the past few mornings and its getting cooler in the evenings. We have lots in store for us this week. We have school clothes to get out. Letters to practice. Numbers to practice. Words to sound out. A six year old mind to refresh from the stuff she learned last year. "Last year" seems so long ago. We are going to enjoy our last few days together before first grade!

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Indiana State Fair.

My heart goes out to those whose lives were affected by the awful tragedy. It is a nightmare for some.
I am so thankful for the Indiana Hoosiers who ran to that stage to help those who were trapped.

I ask that everyone take a moment a day/night to say a small prayer for those families.
Have a great day!

Horsing around!

She loves this time of day!

I love this picture
Meet Rosco! He is Kelsies newest pet. He of course lives at grandmas house so we don't get to see him everyday but when we do she is in heaven! She wanted to show him in 4h this year but you have to be 8 to show in mini 4h. Of course she wasn't happy about that answer. She gets him out of an evening, brushes him, feeds him lots of carrots and sugar cubes! (one for the horse, two for Kelsie, one for the horse, two for Kelsie!) Thats pretty much how that snack goes. These two are definitely going to be best of friends I'm sure He loves her as much as she loves him. If anybody walks to the pasture to try and catch him he runs, but you give Kelsie a rope and he will walk right up to her. Like I said, best friends! I believe so!!

On a side note, there is only 3 more weeks until school starts. Kelsie is going to be in the first grade this year and she is absolutely loving that fact! She cannot wait until school starts back up. We go the 11th to find out who her teacher is..and to see what friends are in her class this year. Fingers crossed her and Karly Puckett get the same teacher this year! They are such great friends and that would be totally awesome for the both of them if they could be in the same class. This summer, Kelsie has become even more independent. Her love for her dad and I is unbelievable! She wants us no where out of her sight at ALL times! I love her more and more everyday!

I know this was a random scattered post but hey, who says I'm not random and scattered! Hope everyone is enjoying their days and staying cool in this crazy hot weather!

Family day Sunday

On Sunday we got up and headed to Fort Wayne for the day! WE went to the Fort Wayne Zoo (if you have not ever been~highly recommended)! We had an awesome time there with the Puckett ladies! We loved watching the animals but I have to say the monkeys are the best by far. The little lady wanted to do nothing but watch the monkeys. Have you ever really stood there and watched them? They are sooo human like but at the same time..they are soo nasty. We fed the Giraffes and even rode a few rides!

The Love of the Game

As I think I mentioned before that Kelsie has now moved up from t-ball to softball! She loves this sport..much like her daddy loves Baseball. The last two years she was in t-ball learning the basics of the sport but this year, she has moved up to the pitching machine! Whoa~in the words of a six yr old. She is quiet intimidated by that machine but she is actually doing really well. She still has a few of the fundamentals to learn but all in all she's doing great!
I'm so glad Softball is something that her and her daddy both love! It gives them something that the two of them can do together. She loves the fact that her daddy is her coach. It was super hard for me to get him to commit to it but now that he has been coaching for a few weeks now you can tell on his face that he loves every minute of  it.  Thank you Jeff for being a wonderful father to our beautiful daughter!
Hope everyone has a very blessed day!

And Summer has Begun!!

Oh how I love summertime! I am pretty sure I have mentioned that before! Kelsie has officially graduated from Kindergarten! Oh. My. Gosh. Did I just say Kelsie is going to be a first grader!!?!! Its so hard to believe. We had a busy last week of Kindergarten. We went on a field trip to Baker Park, had field day, and have had lots of softball games. We have had a pretty busy, hectic schedule here lately but this weekend was just a fun weekend for us. We got to hang out at the fair with friends and spend some much needed family time together! Hope you all had a great weekend.
Here's to a speedy, less hectic week!
This is our day at home spending time in the wonderful outdoors!

Kelsies graduating Kindergarten class on the field trip

Our fun weekend at the fair

Posing with a few friends at the fair!!!

We are sooo in to softball right now! Sooo focused!

Oh sunshing how I love thee

Did I mention that I love sunshine!! AND my new camera!!
I had a few days off from work so Kelsie and I got to spend our afternoons outside! Yay!! The weather has been so beautiful. I took some really good pics (although I'm learning) from my camera and couldn't wait to share them with you all!

Love the chocolate oreo cookie on her face!

Kelsie loves doing the monkey bars

We love spending our days outdoors! Kelsie is used to spending her days with her bestfriend Ella. She was one of the neighbor kids that just recently moved. Kelsie gets "bored" easier now that the kids are all gone but we find different things to do ~just the two of us~. As you can see from the pics above she loves climbing trees and playing on the swing set. I love this girl sooo much.

Hope you all have been enjoying these beautiful sunshiny days! Have a great evening!!

Hair Mania!

Okay. This morning Kelsie wanted her hair pulled back in a pony tail with a rockin head band! She wanted to put her hair up herself so I told her that she should definitely try but if she couldn't get it then I was going to put it up for her. Bad choice of words for me because that led into madness in the morning that I didn't need in which led me to being 6 minutes LATE for work. She tried and she tried and just couldn't figure out how to get the hair tie to just go around 1 more time. I insisted I would help her on the last wind around but NOPE! I then told her it was me doing it or she had to wear it down and my little lady wore her hair down with her rockin headband and a braid on the side. Oh. The. Drama.
Honestly, I'm glad she wants to do her own hair and is trying but darn it do we have to be so emotional about it in the end. Ha! I remember getting mad at myself when I couldn't do something right that seemed so easy!! I love her no matter what. I had a bright idea for her and that was to get her My Size Barbie out this evening and practice working with her. And she did And she got the pony tail in her hair but couldn't get it in her own. OKAY!! Drama meltdown number 2!!
Anyways, hope you all have had a wonderful day full on NO RAIN!!  Have a great evening!! Loves!

My weekend!

Well, lets see! I worked all weekend long and didn't have time to spend with my family. booo! We had inventory at my store so we all worked our hynies off.. We did have a wonderful inventory by the way!!! YAY! We have 4 ladies and a young boy who work at my store and we do it all so needless to say we are very proud of ourselves and our inventory results!
Anyway, I had yesterday and today off so I told Jeff that I wanted him to find something to do yesterday so I could have the house to myself! Kelsie was in school so he went to Muncie and had lunch with a few friends! And! He! Went! Shopping! For! Me!!! He bought me a new camera a few weeks ago and let me tell ya, I haven't put the thing down! I'm really ready for some nice weather so I can get some great shots with it of my little lady! I'm rambling now! Yesterday he came in with a package and told me that he got my "early" birthday present! He got me a new lens for my camera!! Oh, how I love it!! I never realized how much a camera can do and now it can do more!!! Oh I love him! Yes, I'm very excited. I tried it out last night in the house of course but I can't wait to get my hands on it outside. I took some shots of my little lady but she wasn't feeling me being in her face.

Absolutely love her! She amazes me!

She looks so grown up here!

She made me get one that her earring was showing!

Can we say Jeff Jr.? She looks like her daddy here!

Okay, so not the best pics in the world but I'm learning! I called on a friend of mine Ms. Autumn Grismore and told her that I need help!!! Hopefully we can get together soon and I can get some pointers from her!

Happy Tuesday!!

Biggest Loser week 1

So, as you know I am doing the Biggest Loser challenge. Oh, let me tell you! A challenge it is!! I'm on my first week and haven't lost a single pound. Yikes!! Its okay though because I haven't gained any either. I weighed myself today and I weighed in at 145. Same thing I weighed last Wednesday. I have tried slowing down on my pop and that hasn't worked out to well for me...but, I'm trying. I haven't had much time to exercise this week because of Kelsie being sick and all but I am going to get in the swing of things this week starting tonight!! I really am super pumped about losing the weight and getting my body in the physical shape it needs to be in. Oh, summer clothes shopping is going to be fun this summer!! I know I won't be in a bikini this summer but am shooting for me to be in one next summer!
Well, my little lady has softball practice tonight!! Yay!! It's softball time!! I love softball season! While sis is practicing I am going walking/jogging. Its such a nice day out and I'm looking forward to going outside for the evening.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful day and continues to have a wonderful evening!

What a Monday...

Well, for starters..I had an awesome Mothers Day! I do feel bad because I didn't make to Greenfield to visit with my mom and my aunt Faye but, I did get to spend the day home with my lovely little lady and wonderful boyfriend! Kelsie and I went to church Sunday morning and then came home and all 3 of us played outside together, pulled weeds in the flowerbeds together, and even got my garage cleaned out!! It was such a beautiful weekend.
Now, on to Monday...(today). I got Kelsie up and ready for school. She didn't want any breakfast (which isn't unusual). (she usually eats breakfast at school with her friends) and then sent her on the bus to school. I laid back down and watched the news for a few minutes and the phone rings. Its the school! Kelsie is sick and I need to get her! NO!!! She hasn't missed a day of school and she was really looking forward to PERFECT attendance. The poor thing was sooo mad when I went to pick her up because she had to come home. She then got sick in my car (did I mention the weak stomach I have?) Yes, I have a very weak stomach. I am the mom that gets sick while my daughter is getting sick. Hopefully. I. Can. Get. Over. It!!!! I feel so sorry for her. She has done nothing but vomit, and run a high fever all day long. I have done nothing but disinfect the house and wash blankets all day long! I love her so much and hate that she is sick.
On another note, my house smells soo good! and is sooo clean!
Happy Monday to all and please pray for my little lady.
My little lady all snuggled in bed. This is what she has done all day long.

Kentucky Derby

Every year we go to the Puckett's for a Derby party! Us ladies wear our "Big" Derby style hats!! Its always a blast at the Puckett residence! You never know what topic is going to come up. Love this group of  ladies!
You see, usually at the Derby party its all of us friends and our little ladies! Yes, we all have little girls...NO BOYS!! We love it that way!! We love girls! Mandy always has an awesome craft for them to do and our ladies have a blast doing them. Last year we made stick horses and they had a horse parade!

This year they made Derby hats and Jockey masks!! This is our group of ladies!! Let me tell ya, this little group rocks MC!! They are awesome girls. They love playing together, crafting together, making up songs and performing them for us moms together! They are just, let me say, AWESOME.
So, this is what our weekend has consisted of so far! Lots of fun!! Hope you all have enjoyed your weekend!

Happy Mothers Day to you wonderful mom!

The Biggest Loser!

Oh how I love a challenge. You see, I have gained a lot of weight in the last 3 years. I quit smoking about 3 1/2 years ago and it seems like since then I have gained a bunch of weight. I know...it sounds like I'm using smoking as my excuse but honestly, I didn't gain any until I quit. Now, don't get me wrong I'm super glad that I did quit because I feel so much better and I know that I'm much healthier..I just wish I could have not taken up eating after quitting.
Enough of the complaining! So, I started this challenge with some ladies at work and a few outsiders! We are doing the Biggest Loser Challenge. I'm super pumped about this challenge, and let me tell ya, a challenge it will be! We put in 10 dollars to start and we weighed ourselves. Me currently weighing 145 pounds..YIKES! I weighed 142 6 years ago when I delivered Kelsie. Oh. My. I have a lot to lose, BUT, I can do this! I have been watching my calorie intake, which isn't going to swell for me because if you know me then you know I LOVE Dr. Pepper. I have also been working out almost every evening. I can't wait until it gets warmer outside and not raining so I can go walking/running and biking! I love biking. This is going to be difficult for me at first but I'm going to stick with it. I have to! For me, my daughter, and Jeff!!! When I met Jeff I was in a size 3 and now I'm in a size 10. Yes, I'm embarrassed about that but I'm willing to tell you all that information because one day I will be back in a size 6!
Wish me luck!! I will keep you all posted and post pics up as I go along! I know I can do this! I know I can do this! I want that beach body! I want that beach body!
Have a joyous day! I know I will! I feel refreshed after my workout this morning.

Friends!

This weekend was the Spring Laua at the school. Shannon, Ainzli, and Lillie all came to enjoy the laua with us! Well, Shannon and Jeff stayed home and Kelsie, Ainzli, Lillie, and I packed up in the Pacifica and headed on over to the school. We met up with Mandy, Karly, and Addy Puckett! It was a total blast!! The girls go to go on the bouncies over and over again and I mind you they went over and over again!! They all tried to win a fish but the little ladies didn't win :( boo for them and yay for me! I like fish and all but not little goldfish that your little one gets attached to and then all of a sudden you wake up one morning and the fish isn't swimming its floating. NOT any fun with a very creature loving drama queen!!
Lillie and Kelsie get along so well! We don't get to see them very often so when we do get to see them we have fun!  I just love these little ladies! They all got their faces painted and they looked so cute. I'm so glad these three are friends!
Hope you all have a wonderful day. It is very rainy and yucky out but hope you can make the most of it!

I love her!

So, here lately I have been thinking A LOT about how blessed I am that Kelsie is my daughter! I love her sooo much. She is just so perfectly imperfect and I love that about her. She is sooo shy and when she makes a mistake she gets so mad at herself. She is such a drama queen (unlike me! Ha!) She is so much like me and Jeff in so many ways its actually kind of scary.
We have almost completed a whole year of Kindergarten and Kelsie is so proud of herself as am I and Jeff. She has come a long way this year! She hasn't even missed a day of school!! You go girlie :) It really saddens me that my baby is going to be in first grade next year. She tells me that she wants to stay in Kindergarten and not go to first grade! I know that will change when we go sign up for first grade but she doesn't think it will. Oh I love her!
We took her to get her ears pierced for her 6th birthday! The time finally came where she can take them out and change them...well, lets just say it didn't go so swell the first few earring changes but we have the fear of it hurting smashed! She loves having her ears pierced! Jeff says I spoil her to much but I just want her to have the things in life that I didn't and what can I say she is an only child! I keep telling him that I want more but he doesn't want to take anything away from his baby girl so don't let him fool ya...he spoils her just as much as I do!
I miss her so much on days that she is in school and also on days that I have to work. Working full time and her in all day school is absolutely driving me NUTS. Okay. I know..its part of life but its a part of life that I hate! I hate seeing her grow up..don't get me wrong I love seeing her become quite the little lady she has become but also I miss my baby...learning to take her first steps and learning her new words. She is still learning words to this day..like, her new word is lame...LOL! Oh boy do I have my hands full!
I hope everyone has a blessed day and treasure the sweet moments you have with your little ones! Have a great weekend! We have a wonderful family fun filled weekend planned.
This was on Easter Sunday! She looked so cute in her new Easter dress!
Kelsie in her new pink room! Hands on the hip cracking me up.

Saturday, April 23, 2011

oh camera how I love you!

She had just gotten off the school bus! Kelsie loves posing for the camera.

My sleepy beauty. She is so awesome...I am so glad that I'm her mother!! Love you sis!!

So, Jeff got me a new camera!!! I absolutely love it:) Here are just a few pics I took playing around with it. Its amazing and so is he. I love him so much!!

Listen...Do you hear that???

NO..you don't hear anything in this house except for the train that goes by every once in a while!! Jeff is in bed, Kelsie is at school and I'm just sitting here this afternoon being lazy!! Doesn't happen very often in this chaotic house!! There is usually something going on here BUT not today!! I'm enjoying this peaceful afternoon. Got up this morning and got Kelsie off to school, got in the shower, started my housework (which is complete) and now I'm just sitting here taking the quietness all in! Just thought I'd share my random moment with you all!
Hope your Monday hasn't been to hectic! Have a great rest of the week!

Just one minute mommy

So, lately I've been trying to juggle working full time and my wonderful family. KUDOS to the ones who do it chaos free!! Kelsie started Kindergarten this year and I work mostly 2nd shift so this is really hard for me. I haven't handled it very well. She goes to school in the morning and when she gets off the bus I'm already at work. The only good thing about it is Jeff has 4 days off a week now so at least she is getting to be at home instead of her Linda Grandmas(Jeffs mom), which by the way is a wonderful lady in my eyes! Anyways...I'm really trying to let everything go for once and devote all of my attention to Kelsie and Jeff...which is really hard for me. I hate not having the laundry put away, talking on the phone to my mother ( I have gone from talking to her everyday to every other day), doing the dishes after every meal, and keeping toys picked up. I have made a promise to Kelsie that I would start doing the dishes and putting the laundry away when she goes to bed. Which by the way I'm looking at my pile of  laundry on my couch right now wishing I could just hurry up and put it away....but NO!!! You can't do it Cathy. I want to be the mom who Kelsie remembers doing fun, cool things with...not the one who never paid attention to me. I have been sooo grouchy to Jeff and Kelsie lately and I'm trying really hard to get over it...I have a lot going on with my family right now as in mom,. dad and siblings and I'm trying my hardest not to take it out on Kelsie and Jeff but thats kind of hard when all she does is whine after school and all night. I know she is whining at my for a reason because she wants my attention and I'm trying from here on out to just stop what I'm doing and listen to her. I know I can tell her in just a minute mommy will help you or whatever you need...I just have to truly be there in just a minute as soon as whatever I'm doing is done. I can truly do this!! It makes my days so much better when my entire family is happy and getting along!! I love them sooo much...Thank you Jeff for putting up with me and my grouchiness for the past 7 years and to Kelsie mommy loves you so much and I promise to be the best mommy in the world! To all you working moms and non working moms you truly are amazing!!! I hope my daughter grows up to be a wonderful young lady who knows that her mother loves her dearly and knows that why I work is so that I can get her everything she wants and needs not because I didn't want to spend entire days with her. I'd give anything to be able to stay home with her and home school her everyday but unfortuntely I can't. My lesson learned is that when she is whining at me she just needs one minute from me...sometimes more but sometimes its just one minute of my time. I promise to give her that. I hope everybody has a wonderful Thursday and here's to the weekend coming upon us!! :)  Below is a picture of me and my loves on a mini vacation to St. Louis Missouri. We were all happy here because we were all together enjoying each others time and company!
